Questions and answers:
1. How do I determine the size of the axle I want
A: If you want to get the right axle, you need to carefully check your stud spacing and your hub surface spacing and plate spring spacing. See How to measure below.
If you're building a trailer from scratch, then you don't have to worry about measuring anything. Just choose the width of the shaft you want.
Stud spacing:
Select the distance between two adjacent bolts from one center to the other center; Or select a bolt from the center of the bolt to the center spacing of the symmetric bolt.
Hub surface spacing (HF):
The length of the shaft measured from the bottom of one wheel stud to the bottom of the other wheel stud.
This size can be obtained by measuring where the two wheels meet on one side of the shaft to where the two wheels meet on the other side of the shaft.
This measurement is very important, your measurement spacing is allowed to be off by about an inch from the size we show.
Spring spacing (SC) :
It's the approximate width of the trailer. It is a measurement from the center of the spring seat on one side of the axle to the center of the spring seat on the other side. The axle beam has a spring seat welded to it.
