The coolant recovery bottle serves as a reservoir for the engine cooling system. When the coolant pressure exceeds the rated pressure of the radiator cap spring, excess coolant will overflow into the recovery tank. Once the engine is fully cooled, a vacuum will be generated in the coolant system, and the coolant will be sucked back into the coolant system.
